Getting a V3i tomorrow. Any suggestiongs?

I would look on the White's detector forum for the program if it's still there, I would look for the one Magic has put up so there's no chance of someone making there own changes before you see what changes you need to make for the ground your running in. Magic is his handle on the White's forum and maybe other forums as well, so the magic program is tailored form the guy called magic and is tailored for ground in Indiana but can be adjusted to any ground. How does one go from the screen that just shows the vertical bars when one hits a coin to get to the polar plot? or whatever it is called?

If I remember correctly, you push the trigger forward.

I'm watching the Whites introduction DVD on YouTube and just now they showed that. Yes, you push the toggle forward to access the Active Analyze Screen.
Thanks for the help!
Last night I put in the top secret password, my name and phone number and set up the Live Controls in the order I will use most.
The person who used the V3i prior to me used a rain/dust cover on the screen so it looks really nice!
The only problem is the clicking under the arm rest. I'm going to have to put something in there to shore up the looseness. I've heard this is a common problem with this machine. Anyone know what is best to use to shore up the slop under the armrest?

In the Magic mode settings can you tell me what this set of numbers are for?

-95 to -6 5
-5 to -1 50
0 to +9 150
+10 to +12 165
+13 to +17 175
+18 to +22 225
+23 to +29 175
+30 to +39 190
+40 to +49 200
+50 210
+51 to +54 225
+55 to +59 210
+60 to +67 220
+68 to +89 250
+90 to +94 255

The numbers correspond to VDI numbers and Hertz (i.e. a tonal value)
Basically you're telling the machine the VDI range and what sound to make.

If you go to the White's detector forum not this one but White's has their own forum, you should be able to ask and somebody will point you to the program or you might be able to do a search and find it. HH
I haven't seen the Magic mode where is it at?

As a side note, I really like the relic program to. Otherwise I run a modified Coin & Jewelery program most of the time.
No disc, with 1 tone for iron and then varied tones for everything else.

The V3i kills the deus for depth on my soil. I got a childsring at near 10".
Gonna have to try the magic program. I've had my V3 for a good 3-4 years and haven't tried it yet!

Yep that's it and if you scroll down a few post Magic's picture is there saying he's glad everybody likes his program, like I said he can pull dimes at 10"+ all day and of course the bigger the coin the deeper you can hit them. HH

I have a V3i and boy the learning curve is steep, but I love it. One thing about Polar Plot once the target is more then 6 inches deep then forget using Polar Plot. So that being said what does everybody use for deeper targets? What screen?

I rely mostly on the signagraph and tone. A habit I have from the DFX. Basically it's the "raw data" shown. (I've been told)
Due to the depth, you gotta go with a "ball-park figure". Or just dig, to be sure.

If it's deep better to dig.

You got that right rodco.. read read read and read some more.. Then practice practice and practice some more
