Good morning fellow diggers,

I was poking around in the woods yesterday, trying to get some quality detecting time in before the rain. I was way off trail when I came upon a very solid, very loud signal that sounded too good to pass up. After a little probing, I discovered that the signal was directly under a very large, flat rock. With a little effort I was able to flip the rock over, and pin-point the target. Long story, short the target turned out to be the world's biggest pocket spill, or a cache of coins hidden by someone back around 1920.

There were 13 Buffalo nickels, 3 Liberty nickels, 2 Barber dimes, 2 Mercury dimes,

3 Barber quarters, and 1 Standing Liberty quarter

I can't quite describe how exciting it was to see all of these coins come out of the ground! Thanks for looking! Scott

That is awesome! You have some work to do to top that hunt!!! Now I'll be checking all the rocks around:)

Fantastic find! Thanks for sharing with us! :notworthy:

Great find!
Now I won't be able to pass a rock in the woods without swinging around it.

Definitely somebody’s rainy day cache

I don't know how I missed that one! Seriously, that's a hell of a cache- probably would've needed an EMT to revive me if I found that! Big time Congrats to you- Mass hunters strike again!

Exciting find and very rare too

I can only echo other’s comments, and congratulations, but thank you for sharing your story, and pictures. Things like that keep me going, knowing there are still caches to find. WOW!

Wow, what a haul! Congratulations on the great cache.

that's really awesome. A cache is defined as being 'intentionally hidden' and I would certainly be inclined to believe that is the case with your find. Not much of a way that a spill would happen to end up directly under a rock. Big congrats to you, again that's awesome!

Awesome detecting , nice collection of Silver !

Incredible cache! That’s what we are all dreaming of digging. Congrats

Yep it's a cache for sure, hidden under a large rock wouldn't be a spill. Probably not a kid's cache either, no Indian pennies or early wheat cents? Certainly a wonderful discovery, that would make my entire year! Congrats on a job well done. And yeah...I'd be looking around for other large rocks in the area.

Wow, more buffalos and barbers than most of us will find in a year in one hole. Awesome find, good luck ever topping that hole. : )

TREASURE ! How cool is that!
