How would you like to find a preform like this one, this was found at the ''Anzick'' Clovis site here in Montana. cacheartifacts.webp

See if this link works, it's the original picture and description that describes it as from Colorado. The original picture has spread around, and I've seen it listed many times as being from Anzick. You can google pictures of the Anzick cache and see all of the artifacts. I've seen the cache a couple of times, and it isn't from that group. There is one similar, but broken and missing a wedge. http://www.centerfirstamericans.com/mammoth/issues/Volume-22/vol22_num2.pdf

Thanks Joshua for the correction. Much appreciated!

There was a presentation at the Santa Fe convention that had this piece listed as Anzick, it seems a lot of archaeologists have also ran with info from the source you referenced. It's such a spectacular biface that I wish I could find more about it, but this is the only picture I've seen of it. I thought it was from the Watts Cache, but it isn't in any of the group shots I've seen.

It still would be an incredible find for some of us regular collectors.

It was all good till the part about it being a Childs grave site.Don't know if it was found after cameras were invented but pictures would have recorded this .Here in Maine moorehead ripped into every graveside he could find. Many artifacts came up missing.I've read other accounts of sites being dug by professionals. They have even admitted a lack of effigies at certain sites due to the fact that they were easily pocketed.....I don't know what their policies are now but I would think they would.leave them intact.
