The shaft would unthread from the spring once the motor was disconnected. That would be the least destructive. It’s an interesting method of reducing shock from the motor starting as long as there isn’t too much torque or friction once it’s started

Mass production unit, crimped edge, pressure fit sleeve around the shaft.
it starts with a hole in the ground where the furnace will be built....Paul is looking like a true key west conch in this pic...he looks grumpy after digging that hole.

then its time to build the furnace from fire brick.



im turning cylinders now that will be made into gun plugs.....just have to pick out a design to copy....probably make some replicas of the silver miniatures for king Philipp the fifth that were found on the 1733 fleet.having a lot of fun with this project !!
