me and my girlfriend went out today as she has always wanted to have a go to see how it worked and support me first signal she got was this thimble but then 20mins later shes goes and finds this bent silver Hammered Coin :headbang: i think its a lizzy sixpence which was my first ever hammered i found she was really pleased about this and i was like you lucky girl i aint gonna take you out with me again

the date looks funny as it only reads 157 but thats it its not worn or nothing :dontknow:

plus as its bent its got a small crack where the bend is so should i risk bending back :icon_scratch:

Looks like you found a new hunting partner

The girlfriend/wife brings good luck. Everytime I bring my wife I find something really nice. That coin looks like 1571 to me. Thats freakin old. Congrats on that. Hope you guys did many more.

Looks like it was done on purpose and if it's cracked then it will snap. I'd say leave it alone!

Nice find tell her

I'd be happy with it just like that!

I would leave the coin as-is, rather than risk breaking it. Great find!

Your pretty lucky to have found a partner that has a liking for this hobby. That's a rare find in my books!

And about the coin. Don't try to straighten out the coin yourself. If you want it straightened go to your nearest coin expert. Most of them have some expertise in straightening out coins and other items made from precious metals and can usually straighten them out without cracking them.

It would be worth talking to them at the very least.

Cheers, :icon_thumright:

That's a Terrific first outing!!! :headbang:

Wow, :o

Great first... :icon_thumleft: If its cracked it will likely break ! You should never straiten any bent metal relic unless.... You have experience and know what your doing. A good silver smith or jeweler could likely straiten it for you by heating it up. :icon_scratch: However if its already cracked they have a chance of breaking it too. :dontknow:

Keep @ it and HH !! ;D :D
