Goin' for the FoRs Gold

Finally got my ducks in a row, and tomorrow will be ordering the
FoRs Gold Pro Pack, and yeah, I'm as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve..:headbang:

I've read every tutorial I can find, watched Californiagold's video's on You Tube
till my eyes are bleedin', and have got my truck back on the road and
ready to go.

Started looking at the available US dealers, and it may come down to the
flip of a coin as to where I go. Good as they are, I don't care to purchase
it at KellyCo, and none of the good dealers I've dealt with carry it.

Looking over the Nokta site, they have a listing of the US distributors.
Several didn't even have the Nokta products listed on their sites, and
if they're not willing to make that effort I'll pass on buying from them.

So, where did you buy yours? Did they give you the service you've
come to expect from folks like Bart (Big Boys Hobbies)?

That's terrific!
You are going to love this machine, it is amazing. :)

You can write Dilek Gönülay for direct ordering information.
Her e-mail is [email protected]

Now Steve recommends the CoRe because it has beach settings too, but either choice will make you very happy.

I may be a little behind but so far the only US retailer that I know of is KellyCo.

I cant wait to hear your gold stories!

Oh and be sure to ask about the Pin Pointer, I love mine and it gets a lot of use.

I do find that it has a hour glass field of detection and it doesn't really pick up on tiny gold, but everything else it does great with.

Is beach settings the only difference between the core and the gold model?

I've not found gold as of yet, but I pick up on some very small deep targets. Hoser John once said that detecting is the hardest type of prospecting. It is.

There are a couple minor differences like tone, but the ability to beach hunt is a big one if you plan to hit the beaches.
I used my Gold with great success at the Trinidad beach in Northern California but I couldn't go down into the surf and using the large coil would cause more chatter and falsing the closer that I got to the water.
The Sniper coil and medium coil are perfect for the beach if you have the Gold and stay out of the wet stuff.

As Armchair mentioned, this is one of the hardest ways to prospect.
I have gold all around me but I have yet to find any too and I am VERY good at finding it using other methods. LOL
It just takes time, patients, persistence and ground that has gold.

I love watching Steve's adventures but he puts a TON of time, effort and money into his trips.
CaliforniaGold also makes it look super easy, but he too puts a lot of time and effort into it and knocks on doors to get access to private property.

It is worth it, so much fun and the a great way to get some exercise in. :)

Thanks for the help Neo. I have found one US distributor that
I'll be calling in the AM, but if I don't get a good gut feeling from
them I'll go ahead and order from Nokta direct.

I've read Steve's review(s) of the Core and Gold versions, and
am going to go with the FoRs Gold. I seriously doubt I'll be hunting
any beaches, and the Gold version can do any of the other coin or
relic hunting I might do..in fact, it seems well suited to it.

Neo, I'll be making a trip to N. Calif/Nevada in the Fall, so maybe
we can get together and do some nugget shooting? I just gotta
find me a nugget in the Motherload country!

start swinger that new bleeper dizz they like to find metal stuff,
dig enough you will find gold!
you might just get the most prized find of all, a gold coin,
im still lookin for one !!!!
Happy Bleepin Buddy

Congratulations on the new purchase. The FORS units are both excellent detectors, and they really are the same detector from a performance standpoint. Anything one can find the other can find, with the exception of the extra ability of the CoRe to handle salt/alkali ground. The work around on the FORS Gold on wet salt beach sand is to increase the ID Mask setting up until the salt responses are eliminated. Not a perfect solution but better than nothing.

Good luck with your new unit!

I would love to do some Nugget shooting with you.
Maybe we can get Ray, John, Beekbuster and Caligold to join us and we could do a group hunt. :)

But you will have to send it to Kellyco for repairs they are the only repair service in the States for the Fors Cores & Gold..

Don't plan on breaking it, but there may come a time when
parts wear out, or it does need some service of one kind or
another.

I've decided to give KellyCo another chance at my business.

Last time things didn't go so well, and I have not been a fan
of them since, but then that was many years ago. Been in
contact with one of their reps, and hoping things will be much
better this time around.

If that rep is working today I'll be ordering the Pro Pack today,
but if he doesn't get back in til Monday then I'll wait . I'm really
not in a huge rush, as right now it's far too hot out to do
much of anything.

That would be absolutely awesome...

may i ask what is it about kelly co? I've heard a few peeps say they wont buy from them just curious :)

Nothing wrong with Kellyco. Some of those complaining are upset about something that happen years ago.

For the record and not talking about your post or any post in this thread but in general, we do not allow bashing of our supporting vendors, any vendor, just to bash them. Legitimate issues are fine, but bashing just to bash is not.

G&G, the issue I had was way back in the early 1980's, but in all
honesty I can't even recall the details. Shouldn't have even said
anything, just as TH has pointed out. My bad.

Truth be told, that was a loonngg time ago. A KellyCo rep has actually
sent me PM offering to handle my order personally, and IMO that
is the beginning of what I consider to be excellent customer service.

If I don't get sick again tonight I'll be ordering it in the morning,
and if all goes according to plan (which I have little doubt that it will) I'd be
very happy to give KellyCo a glowing reference in their individual forum.

Just got off the phone with Chris Brooks from KellyCo, and
the FoRs Gold Pro Pack is on it's way today....

Chris was great to work with, and I should be getting the
package late this week or early next. FedEx ground takes
awhile from Fla. to the far NW, but no worries about that.

Now to order me a nice pick...considering the Royal Mfg.,
as they're about the same price as the Apex and look to
be very well made.
