gold bug 2

I just got a gold bug 2. I was wondering if other hard rockers used this detector to help decide what areas to sample? I just went thur 4 five gallon buckets of samples and seperated out about 2.5 gal. Worth of material the machine sounded off on..can you tell by the tone of the hit if you are hearing an iron target? thanks! Any input appricated

I don't use the bleeper to find my veins, but if its course gold in the vein I will use my bleeper make sure I clean my hole proper.
It doesn't hurt to run the veins with a bleeper as pockets n patches still do show up now and then.

So if i find rock that the bug beeps at in iron discrimination mode that would indacate metal other than iron presant? Or just alot of iron?....thanks for the replies.

I check veins with my GB2. It even found a small pocket once.

if it beeps in iron disc. mode in one direction it's iron, usually , if it beeps in both directions it's usually gold. iron in disc mode sounds scratchy. gold is zip zip. I vein hunt with my gb2 and find good gold. good luck on your hunts.
