Took the boat out today and hit some old water spots where Ive done really well in past but in recent years its hard to find anything. Got a really faint low tone right at the waters edge and from way down out pops this

Holy crap! Oustanding find. Finding a gold coin lives at the top of my " white whale" list. Nice to know that they are still out there in the wild. The close-up picture of the coin poking out of the stand is perfect. Suitable for framing. Which detector were you using, and do you recall the VDI? Congratulations!!!!!!! I vote BANNER!

Minelab Equinox 700. I believe the VDI was 22. Coin was probably on edge or at limit of detection depth. Been over the area hundreds of times
