Or use nitric acid. Simpler and cheaper for small amounts. Google it to learn how. Safety first.

Thanks for the help.
I did go to YouTube and watched some videos and came across a gentleman named (Two Toes). He used nitric acid to separate the mercury from the gold and showed how to remove the mercury with a piece of copper then how to neutralize the acid with baking soda. He also showed how to use mercury to extract gold from blacksands called amalgam.

Easiest is to just hit it with a torch.or put it over the camp fire. Best way would be to use a retort.
