Al Jazeera News was willing to stand up and share both
sides of the argument:

Gold Miners Sue Over Bans of Dredging Equipment | Al Jazeera America

From the article:

"Tom Kitchar, president of the Waldo Mining District in Oregon’s Josephine County, calls the
argument “a bunch of crap.” The county in the southwestern corner of the state has 904
registered mining claims, the most of any county in Oregon. Kitchar has 10 of those claims."

"“In some ways, it’s a non-issue they’ve glommed on to,” he said. “They just hate mining.”

What? The Muslims are on our side?

The network's stated objective is "to give voice to untold stories, promote debate, and challenge established perceptions."

Al Jazeera America offers unbiased, fact-based, in-depth stories of U.S. and international news, including sports, business, lifestyle and investigative journalism

It does seem strange but I guess they tell the true facts.

I get Al Jazeera news as part of my DirectTV package, and have watched
a few of their global news broadcasts. The reporting was much better than
expected, to be honest, and they do air some interesting specials on all kinds
of subjects.

Now, back to the issue at hand...

I wonder if any of the major newspapers in Oregon have seen the article,
and hope they feel like fools for not reporting on both sides of the story
themselves? :dontknow:

The "major" papers are owned by the left.
The small towns lean to the right.
Portland, Salem and Eugene are not on our side. Eugene area has a lot of farms and ranches....but the town of Eugene has that college 50,000 + not supporting us.

As an independent contractor I accepted a "service" job working for the major manufactured home companies. Double wides, triple wides. I found out real quick that the small towns were normal hard working God fearing people. Eastern Oregon for sure. Any place that has ranches farms etc....understand.
They want and embrace change for the better. They also have little, or no time to get this done!

When I found it difficult to wade through BS spewed by the American press, I'd sometimes to to Al Jazeera to get some perspective.

what's baffling, is many miners will vote for the anti-mining right kevin unioncoalminers.jpg
