GOLD!!!! 'n locks
Hunt number SIX for the week! WOOHOO! Getting off work yesterday I decided to take a drive through one of my local haunts, a local park where there are more soccer fields then there are trees it seems. The Fair grounds are there as well, and the fair is being set up for next week. Of course there were some soccer games going on, and lots of people parked along the fields. I didn't want to be bothered with munchkins or suspicious glances as I detected along the fenceline separating the playing fields from the parking so I went back deeper into the park. At the back of the park and the last six playing fields there wasn't anything going on, so I parked in the middle of a long stretch of the parking area (a strip of grass running along the road on either side, just outside of the plank fencing separating the playing fields from the parking) I wasn't going to spend a great deal of time today, er.. last night now.. so I just lined myself up with where I could imagine the middle of the average car would be when parked.. you know between the front and back doors of the SUV's and Minivans most popular among the Soccer Mom community. With that in mind I began sweeping up the parking strip.
I found LOTS of pull tabs, twist off caps for everything from sports drinks to 40 ouncers (beer), buried cans, the usual junk. I found a lot of pennies.. I guess people put their pennies in the door handles or compartments on their doors and when getting in and out of their vehicles end up loosing the change in the grass... or pocket spills as they exit their cars maybe?? <shrug> A couple of dimes, a nickle, I wasn't getting rich, but I was having a good time. Then I got this really hot signal!.. a FIFTY CENT PIECE
Carefully I dig, and probe and dig.. and at last I see it.. OH MY GAWD!!.. GOLD! It even says it's gold!.. right there on the label! <rolling eyes> I had to bring that home!
A few more pennies later and I was nearing my truck and my drive home, when I got another erratic signal.. not so strong this time. I nearly just disregarded it and packed it in for the day, but I decided to dig it anyway. I dug, and out pops this little tiny lock. Probably some girls diary lock or some sort of fashion accessory or something.
<shrug>
$1.18 in clad, a little bit of "gold" and a lock to secure it all with.. not bad for about 45 minutes of play time.
Happy Hunting all
