Another nice day here in Michigan, kind of cold, but dry and no wind, allowed me to get out again this morning. I worked it hard, maybe too hard. I had a little mishap and hurt both my hands but persevered on and finished out my hunt. A true diehard huh ... lol
.
At the elementary school I went to (on the really richy rich side of town) they had recently re-sodded the entire school playground grassy areas. Bummer too, as I went there hoping to cover the field areas because last summer when I was there I saw a soccer game going on with a hundred or so parents watching. It would have been a good area to hit. Anyway, they had a orange snow fence kind of material fence around the entire new sodded area so the kids didn't play on it I guess. I decided to step over it to take a shortcut to the woodchip play area. Bad idea. My toe got caught on the top of the fence and I fell straight forward, landing hard on both hands with my feet three feet in the air caught on the top of the fence. I jammed my left thumb and to top it off, I let go of my digging knife on the way down and it came down on that thumb also and cut it a little. I also bruised my right palm landing on my detector after it slammed onto the ground. Dahhh, I am such a clutz. Geez, did I feel silly.
It was another good day for me. Not much at the school. I covered the woodchips but had also been there last summer, so it hadn't restocked much or someone cleaned it out already? I hit two parks after that and the first one especially was loaded. Almost all my finds today came out of the grassy areas. It only had two tiny woodchip play areas, a slide in one and four swings in the other. I covered those with some finds and at the edge of the swings I got a huge signal, about 3 feet accross. I thought it was a big piece of junk but there were multiple signals. It was a huge coin spill. All in all, I dug over 50 quarters, dimes, nickels, and a few pennies out of that area that overlapped off the woodchips out onto the grass. It was pretty cool, a 70 plus coin coinspill!!
Also at this same park, near the one bench that was there, a nice little 14k white gold wedding band popped out. Nothing fancy, but hey, gold is gold! After about 3 hours hunting, my first keeper of the day!! Wooowhooo! About 5 minutes later I got a sweet sterling chain and sterling Saint Michael pendant. It was pretty deep, about six inches and the chain went down even further. I was smiling and my hands didn't hurt that much any more ...lol.
At the second park a mile down the street, I found a handfull of coins and a cool lead toy knight. It has "Westair - made in UK" on the bottom. I also found a pretty interesting ring. It's got a celtic knot design. It's not gold or silver but pretty cool anyway.
It was a fun day, minus the injuries. I found 3 more junque rings too putting me at 173 rings total for this year (junque and keeper). I got a bunch of other trinkets too. The pouch was loaded today, a fun, hard working, and busy hunt! Just the way I like it.
5 hours out there hunting today, 223 coins total for a $15.81 face value. If my next hunt is a really good one, I will clear $700 face and maybe 10,000 coins for the year. Hopefully, the ground will stay unfrozen for a while longer.
Thanks for reading, HH to all, good luck. Here's some photos of my finds today.

Hate when that happens. :P Sounds like one of those falls where you don't worry if someone saw you and you hop up at lightening speed!
That sounds rather like the kind of fall where you lay there for a minute or two and recover.
