I am planning on doing a lot of detecting this weekend to ease the pain of hitting my 40th birthday on Sunday. I am hoping that I can get a BIG find one of the next couple of days. Today, I stopped at a beautiful old brick house dating back to 1880 and asked the gentleman there if I could detect. He had no problem with it but warned me that, once again, others had been over it already. The ground was dry but my SE had no problem finding plenty that was missed. Dug a lot of trash today too but that was just to get it out of the way for future digs. Anyway, here is the tallies and some pics...

Crossing swords relic (Please help me if you know anything about this item)
11 wheats starting from 1919
11 lincolns that were pre-1962 (almost wheats)
1961 silver canadian quarter
Susan B. Anthony Dollar
Other clad
25 cent token that is worn down hard
Silver, 1891 pat. spoon (curled up in a ball when I found it)
Real nice Compact complete
2 copper picture frames
Miscellaneous relics

Great finds. I like the spoon. Is that a name on the front of it?

Great start for the weekend!

I just hit my 40th birthday in April and still feel like I did when I hit 30. Well, except my back hurts a little more and my belly is a little bigger and it's a little harder to tie my shoes and my hair is a little greyer and my eyes are a little blurrier. Other than that I feel great.

First off, Happy Birthday!..
And Wow!,, those are some really nice relics... love the old spoon...
Sorry, not a clue on the sword thingy. Looks nice though...
Any clue as to what the small "Coca-Cola" thingy was used for?
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Great finds, im enjoying 39 while I still can. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
now get back out there and find some more cool stuff!!

Excellent finds there--a bit of silver--and a Chunk of silver with that gorgeous spoon.

I like the toe tap, crossed-saber item, and all of it...

But my favorite item is the daguerrotype photo frame on the top left. I think the piece below it is actually a buckle of some sort.

Thanks for the compliments, today was a little slow. Met up with SlipperyJack again and hit another old house just down the street from the other one last night. Anyway, a few wheats, an end roll cap from a roll off of a player piano, dog license, key and some clad. Seemed like this yard was pretty clean. Jack had a few finds but not sure if he will post those or not. I will hopefully find some goodies tomorrow and post some of these items with tomorrows. To answer some of the questions asked here...

Coca Cola thingy??? Not sure but it looks a little like a tap of some sort.
Heel plate- Jack found another one today with a pat. date in the 1860's?
The copper frame- It actually had a solid copper piece for the back of it that I didn't post pics of.
Buckle? Could be, it is not very thick though, definitely interesting.

Tomorrow is the big day and I am hoping I nail a really good coin. My mom and dad took me and the family out for dinner tonight and part of my mom's gift to me was an 1899 Morgan Silver Dollar that she had in her collection. Oh to unearth one of these babies!!! As for tomorrow, the dirt here is HARD so I feel limited for depth. I think I am going to go back to the house where I found the seated dime. Either way I will post pics tomorrow. Good luck everbody, get out there!
