So they are clearing a spot off for a sub-division half a mile from a Battlefield in Virginia... Thinking it was more of less hit hard already me and a buddy hit it today in piles of dirt they have bulldozed!

I noticed most of the piles of dirt they bulldozed were old trench lines. Right when I threw the detector on the first dirt pile within 5 seconds got a En-field Confederate bullet then started too dig more En-fields then three ringers, colt bullets, etc etc. The best find too me was this "Good Luck" decoration piece with a horse shoe and wish bone on the front with a lead back!

All together me and my buddy dug 67 bullets within 2 hours. I can only image what the MDers from the 1970s/80s got out of this site! We were only picking up all these bullets because they were way way deep where no machine could pick them up! Thanks too the excavator company and foreman for letting us be able too hit this site after they got off this evening!

My guess is the spot you are about too hit is been hit hard (most battlefield areas have) hunt it very slow and listen for those deep signals! good luck WVman

thank ya a few people have hunted it its on my uncles land

No problem also another piece of advice i will give you since you more of less are not hunting the actual battlefield site (90% of those are on federal lands) you may be hunting a spot where the soldiers regrouped either union or confederate! my experience in hunting regrouping areas is they always tended too regroup in lower sections of lands and not up on higher parts. I once hit a regrouping spot where they were surrounded by high land and down in the lower section we dug up all sorts of union relics but up on the higher part it was very little! so something too remember! hope you dig that confederate buckle just remind yourself "Today is the day" even if it is not! good luck brotha! :occasion14:

sad they are destroying the trenches. At least you got to save some stuff.

I've always done pretty decent following the bulldozers.

Not trying to be a smart-ass jerk, but the term is Enfield, not en-field. The name comes from the British Small Arms (BSA) factory at Enfield, in England. If you want to get really technical, they are called "Pritchett Balls". The Confederate two-ringers are called "Gardner Bullets".

Nice construction site saves!

That charm isnt period
