Good Start to '08 and a recap of '07
With the warmer weather (40's) kind of sticking around I decided to stop at a park on my way home from work. Good thing I did as I ran across the tot-lot from heaven! I only detected for a little over an hour and pulled $8.76 in clad. I was getting such good silver clad coin signals that I stopped digging the penny signals to save hunt time and maximize clad totals. My highlight (next to the obligatory zipper pull) was a nice 925 silver men's ring!
The chip god's were smiling on me today!
My highlights for '07 include 2 merc's, a SLQ, numerous wheats and older Canuck pennies, 1/2 of a large cent, and Indian head cent. As for the bling... I managed 3 goldies... 2 rings and a cross with the chain, 4 silver rings and a silver spoon. One cool button which I have yet to identify. My clad count for the year was $206.64. Even though these finds are paltry compared to most of you, I'm pretty proud of my accomplishments as I switched up in October from my el-cheapo Radio Shack detector to a Minelab X-70. Once I did and started my learning curve, stuff started "popping" out of the ground.
Special thanks to B-doo for allowing me to detect with him. He is truly an inspiration and a very good detectorist. Look forward to the rest of the year
