Pottery and points good hunt .

I just dated the pottery and got a name for it. It dates the same time frame as the point.
Pottery, Wright Check Stamped
Middle to late Woodland period
The point dates 2500-1700 so probably closer to 1700 due to the age of the pottery.
Thanks southfork

nice point and that is cool material.

I love that blue material... nice little point.. it looks like a Bakers Creek to me... woodland

Both nice finds, pretty lithic too.

Beautiful point, rock. Like the pottery, also.

I love the blue point Rock…that color will stand out among all the black ones you save.

Yay! Beautiful blue point and pretty pottery shard too! Good finds! Were they field or creek finds?

In the field. I had to field wash the point when I found it. You can only rub the dirt off so much.

That's a very pretty point rock glad you broke the spell ;)

I really like the black ones but I don't find many blue ones. I almost walked rite past it.

Just for curiosity sake I started noticing the material looks a lot like Tennessee's blue material so I checked out some Tennessee points... it looks like it could be a Brewerton eared triangle since your so far up in the state.
..... Or not.....

The base is wrong for a Bakers Creek it does have short ears and small notches above the base. That's why I thought Eared Yadkin. I have found a Bakers Creek out there but it was about a mile up from that spot. I found this one in almost the same spot last month.

Rock,
That is a sweetheart little point you've got there! Congratulations to you on that one.

That point is a dandy! Neat find!

Wow rock...that's a pretty blue one, so :happy2: for you! And the sherd is really neat, looks like a "plant" fossil sort of. What a good day for you.
