Got this key date half dollar at my credit union day before yesterday.
Red book lists it in F-12 @ $145 1938 D

I also have been meaning to try roll hunting. Finds like that make it worth while. I did find a silver quarter in the change machine last month at the laundry mat, Take em any way I can get em.

Well, I gotta tell ya it's no picnic. There's too much competition today. If I do find some rolls, usually they are someone's clad dumps....took approx. 20,000 halves this year so far....most banks won't even have any.
If I wasn't a collector I wouldn't be doing it as it's probably cheaper to buy the silver after you figure in time and gas. FFD
