going to doc tommorow to find out when i go under the knife
so went out again - went back to where i found halves last week
my GF pulled me out of the water for an appointment and
felt there might be some more there...I was right
was hoping for gold but not to be
one of the first finds was old lipstick case which was down like a foot and a half
then got a silver quarter...then some wheats... small silver band...then caked silver Merc
little while later in area near where I got the 2 brownish silver halfs last week
got deep brownish silver quarter- was working the shallower water and got faint signal and
was surprised with another silver half
bout an hour after i was in - another hunter showed up
he hit the left side and i was hunting right which holds more older finds
after a couple hrs he left and I moved down to search for fresh drops
I got a loud hit and pulled a fresh drop 925 celtic ring he some how missed - when
i looked under i could see a scoop hole bout 2ft away
was swinging towards knee deep (I use extra long Anderson rod ) - got another
surface hit - bent over and stuck my face in and saw glint of gold poking out of sand
got excited - thought i had a gold band...Not. Gold plated designer ring - stamped made in France
bet it wasnt cheap but not gold
I also pulled some older newer coins others had missed - sand on left side is soft and deeper
than that on the right - that brought sand in in that area yrs ago and very rare to getting any of real age
there (years ago it looked like a boat came in close and blew out a small area with prop and I got old gold and
100 yr old coins but that was like 15yrs ago)
Knowing the history of a beach can bee very important sometimes...I would saw 99% of hunters here dont know its history
Some that do - probably heard it from me :headbang:

Rare sight seeing me hunt in this close - usually you'd me lucky to see my snorkel and very top of head when i hunt way out
but the deeper waters were quite - so went where the targets were
Im holding my half

Here's everything
funny - night before I dreamt I found a doorknob - should have dreamt of gold rings :BangHead:
notice old bathing cap snaps - you find these made of brass...they are usually pre WW II
a good sign
piece of glass is very old - has bubbles in the glass - so also a good sign

Once again - i hunt in all metal - I take all junk that is possible (some stuff out there bigger than your head- which one day I hope to remove too)
notice lack of new trash (lot of hunters hit here and most veteran hunters take out new trash) - half a pulltab and 2 bottle caps - other old iron down over a ft
No need to discrim. here ...at least not more than for bobby pins

Congrats on a great hunt & luck at the casino! You probably should have grabbed a lottery ticket on a lucky day like that. What did you win big on at the casino? Slots, table games, video poker?

Slots - I was down a little - then hit over $300 on one - then a little later hit over $300 on another and right before i left I hit another $100
2 weeks ago I hit for over $2000...I only take down usually like $200
My GF is the big gambler - I usually will nickel and dime it up - she hits jackpots - she hit one for over $2000 3 weeks ago
mine took all day

My first experience with slots was when I was 15 or 16 and we drove out to California and stopped in Vegas. My older bro just turned 18 and he was playing a dime slot and when he won some of the dimes in the tray were silver. He kept at it and kept getting more silver dimes.

really thought you'd have some gold, Casper. Next time, for sure.

May your medical procedure go as smooth as possible and super fast recovery.

Casper, when you're back on your feet, I'd love to get out with you. I live in NE CT, but I'm down at the CT shore towns all the time. If just to follow you around and compare detectors. Come to my house and I'll drive. I have a couple spots that are almost virgin as far as I know.

this spot is an hour and a half from me - which i consider close for salt water for me
my advice to all - if you have close spots that you go to often - and you have the time - go all metal and clean out everything you can
then all you have have to worry about is the new trash deposits
you will be surprised when you clear all the deep iron out what you may find with...under or next to it
ive gotten my share of gold and deep silver at spots where I pulled junk others left or passed over the yrs
plus if you try and get everything - good and bad out of your fav spots - you will have piece of mind
and might come away with some hidden treasures to boot :icon_thumright:

Thanks - Im inSpfld ma. area - ive been to SW Ct. few times - i got some fav spots in SE Ct.
I used to do R.I. a lot too...got a few favs there that i like to go to where i can get a piece of old gold now and then
or a few silvers - I was going to the Cape frequently before 2020 and did well out there over the yrs
what sucks right now besides my injury keeping out of the water so much =- is the tides
on my days off the lows are too early 5am- 7am (which i dont mind if im staying down there but to do a day trip :BangHead:
...or theyre in the middle of the day - prime time and i dont like to battle the crowds
Doc is putting surgery on hold now - he'd be po'ed if he knew i was hunting but i really cant do much more bad to it
- now if i can only get some yellow stuff
Good Luck to you if you get out !!!
