Might be a Hixton?? I believe it is a point, and a nice one as well. These were traded with, where I'm from in NE iowa.
A beauty for sure, thanks for sharing it, congrats..

You guys and the gravel bars! I have such a hard time finding anything on the gravel bars but gravel. Thats a great example of a good find that is a tough hunt IMO.

I found one in a gravel bar, but that was just plain dumb luck....

That's a good looking one side valve! Thanks for sharing!!

Hello,
Found this point on a small gravel bar tonight. The base has a funny angle to it that appears to have been intentional. Maybe a small knife? Measures 2 1/4" long.

Thanks for looking,

I think it's an arrow head that the natives used.

Hi rock,
Seems like the stuff I've found on gravel bars is generally in better condition and I don't know why this is...Maybe it's not and I just think so. It is tough hunting in a sea of rocks but I've done it long enough to know they are there every year. The thing I like about it is every spring the high water changes these gravel bars so it like it never been hunted. Arrowwheads being rocks tend to accumulate with all the rest of the gravel so maybe the odds are better finding them there than hunting on a field. I guess it depends where you are.

Thanks,

Yeah that creek hunt I did the other day, I found everything on one shallow gravel bar. It wasnt quite out of the water yet but was heading in that direction. Ill check it again you can bet. Ill also check upstream of it as soon as the water level goes back to normal and hopefully find where it all came from.
