Well we got some rain this morning. It stopped around 12 so by 2 I was out. I had no idea we got that much rain just today. Water was 4 feet deep crossing just to get to the 1 gravel bar I walked. Not much showing just a 20x30 land section. But this is what I found. If water hadnā€™t been so muddy I would have looked longer. Had a beaver out there smacking his tail scaring me to death. So quiet the wham of the tail on the water which is super loud.

Great finds. Whatā€™s the round ball is it a game piece?
Itā€™s a hammer stone. Thatā€™s the 3 rd time I have found it so this time I took a picture of it then threw it to the bank. Probably used for a Crusher for nuts. Wasnā€™t enough damage on it to of been used for rock. Iā€™ve got plenty of them so unless they look special I donā€™t keep them anymore

Glad you got out, I was going to this weekend but life got in the way.
I donā€™t mind high water but high muddy water is a bad thing. I almost tripped over some logs I couldnā€™t see. So I didnā€™t bother trying to go any further. By the way the point is split in half from a bad impact fracture. Thinking it was a spike.

nice finds
the round ball is nice, I think that would have went home with me too.
I probably should look at it again to make sure itā€™s not an egg stone. But Iā€™m pretty sure itā€™s a crusher type of pestle for nuts and herbs. Iā€™ve got a bunch of them but might pick it up next trip.

I had to change flipping sticks cause old faithful started getting a crack in the middle. I hope this stick lasts near as long and is as lucky.

Mine hasn't been near as lucky as yours. I've never been the superstitious type but maybe that's what I need to do. Haha

I make my own flipping sticks out of discarded beaver sticks usually. This new one I actually cut myself so I know itā€™s super sturdy. Itā€™s also a bit longer than what Iā€™m used to but itā€™s great for strength using it for climbing in and out of the creek banks. The banks here are 4-8 feet tall

Congratulations, You did good for it being high water with a good assortment of artifacts!
Iā€™m hoping to find a good one or 2 next trip. We have had 5 good floods already this year. If the rain lets off should be something good to find.
