I went out on Saturday and low and behold my first buffalo showed up. I don't dig the mid tones, like I should, so it has taken me almost a year to get my first buffalo. He isn't very pretty, but he is all mine!

I also got a pocket watch, 2 bullets, 5 Wheaties, 2 Canadians, broken silver ring, 1940 rabies tag, a TootsieToy and a Midgetoy.

No silver coins.:sadsmiley:

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts!

That is one interesting car. Looks like some type of moon rover or something futuristic for the time.

In a year I only dug one Buffalo nickel and then I started to specifically target them. I was digging 12 older Jefferson nickels to every Buffalo. I started to look at my readings more closely in my CTX and knew that anything that read stable in the nickel range that was below 4 inches could be a Buffalo. I dug 5 last year. I made it a point of not discriminating with my ears and I was able to find Buffalo nickels that I walked over.

This year, in 6 weeks, I've dug 2 to include one V nickel with the Deus. I have been targeting the same way with the Deus and it seems to work.

I'm with you on that Point man if he'd dig 50. I found several this year that way.

Neat finds Tom, congrats on your first buffalo!

I see a lot of people say they have never found Buffs or V's. You have to dig those mid tones. Nice finds Tom.

Congrats Tom, good deal on the buff. If you weren't so competitive you probably have found allot of other cool coins. Silver is cool, so are V nicks, Flying Eagles, Two centers, gold coins, gold rings with diamonds in them, and numerous other relics, jewelry and coins. You can always go back and look again. Sometimes cleaning out all the midtones clears the way to some silver hiding. Your a digging machine, I'm stuck on digging everything, now I can't move on and cherry pick anymore. Keep doing what your doing,(your doing good) you can always go back.

Interesting finds Tom! :occasion14:

Love the pocket watch case and the rabies tag, looks like you're going to have another great year!

I have this MD OCD thing that I have to dig those mid tones. I just can't stand thinking about what I might have passed up. Oh, the pull tab collection would fill up half the bed of a pickup truck by now, but I just can't help it. I know I need help, but so far they don't make a pill for me to take.
