Got Seated in the Desert!

I went back to the place where I found the Barber half last week to see if we missed anything.
Almost immediately I was rewarded with a 150 y/o seated dime!

Other finds included the usual desert ghost town junk.

A couple of blasting caps and a tiny mining rail spike:

This place is extremely difficult to hunt. For every can on the surface, there are two or three under the dirt!

Never back up without looking first!

Great FINDS FANTASTIC Pictures!!! Those can pictures are great !!! In 1965 I was out hunting in the superstitions and fell (slid down a hill ) onto a cactus. I got very sick. for about a week. But after that I never got poison Ivy again.

Super old Silver - Congrats! Those rusting cans remind me of areas around Rich Hill, near Stanton, AZ. We raked them out of 10'x10' sections and detected. My buddy found one that actually had pickers and flour gold in it - Lucky so-n-so!

I don't know, but every single ghost town out here is like this. I think the way they depict western towns in the movies is wholly inaccurate. I can visualize a giant pile of trash outside a window on every single building. At least that's what the evidence would suggest.

I think that was common to throw your trash out the door. Ranchers and farmers must have been higher class than miners because they would many times cart their trash 1/4 mile away. Maybe it had to do with bear problems and livestock. Who knows, but it did appear to be socially acceptable.
