I saw this old house one day last week,Tracked the owner down, and meet him here today.

He said I could hunt the property, but only if I mowed

I hope to get out here and try it one day this week.

Will update as I dig the finds.

It's really bad,(mowing wise) up about ten feet out from the house. Really overgrown, more than you can see.

I'll have to do some hand clearing there before I can mow.

UPDATE:

Well, hunted the old place today.
Found

2.15 in clad
One '63 rosie
one '55 wheat
Brass railroad lock- B&O Railroad Dayton Manufacturing company on the lock.
A clear oval stone mounted on a silver back.
What my wife believes to be and old hair clip. It is silver also.

Several of the Lincoln mems were '62 '60 '66. I knew there had to be some silver around.

Hunt very slow and still have plenty to hunt. I'll update as I go.

1840's farm house. There are also some other foundations, in the barnyard, on the property. Maybe a springhouse, and who knows what else.
Going Friday afternoon to start cutting. will update this weekend.

The wifey wants to know when I'm planning on cutting our grass. I shrugged.

Just a start on the digging. Have plenty left to go over. I'm Happy with the silver, but hope to find some old coins.

Yo! That is an old, old house and that privy is still standing. REAL easy to find. If there are any others they should be within a few feet of that one. Mow that sucker and dig that privy baby!

I love that lock! deffinently worth the mowing! A few months ago I found almost the same oval stone literally laying up against the wall of a lock along the canal here in huber.

Try that field out in front of the place too! (that is, if it is not planted already) It might not always have been cornfield, and it is awfully close to that house.
