Absolutely true, Metal Detectors give us a sixth sense. Metal detectors are like dogs! They share a sixth sense and alert us to things we cannot see or otherwise perceive. Much like dogs, metal detectors have different levels of perception. The Malinois doesn't sniff like a hound dog. Sniffing has limited "depth". I'm guessing a Mal has keen perception in their eye-brain interfacewhere their perception goes into what can only be described as a sixth sense. It is an interesting correlation, metal detectors give us a sixth sense. They too have their unique capabilities and limitations.

A FDEM survey done by the State of Alaska is separate from the "Discovery work" recorded within a timely manner of a mineral entry "Claim". The State survey will be useful to refer to as for a 'Reasonable man' indicator of minerals within the survey limits.Am I trespassing?
I will be detecting in pristine wilderness in wild Alaska. As mentioned before you can't get there from here. I have only seen a few places in this world where I pause for a moment and ask my inner self, "Self, are we supposed to be here? I'm in a still, quiet, untouched place where spotted frogs, butterflies and mushrooms thrive and no man or woman has ever stood. It's another world. I feel a sense of trespassing.
I am permitted by the State of Alaska. I have an APMA. I hung paper four years ago. Alaska DNR said, I don't need a permit because I am a "casual use" miner. It's hard to conceive that this quiet place was once the scene of a horrific hydrothermal/epithermal explosion that blasted gold nuggets five miles away. Other theories abound on how the Alaska Centennial Nugget ended up where it ended up. Was it a glacial erratic? Was it discovered by an early prospector, hand carried and the prospector met with an unknown demise?
The GPZ 8000 came along at the most opportune time! I have other detectors i.e. a Garrett GTI 2500 with the Treasure Hound coil. I need deep and it's only gold. I plan to auger shallow holes less than a few feet, recover the hidden contents and re-fill the holes with the original contents.
A note on the discovery. This deposit was discovered as a result of twelve years of personal interpretation of FDEM survey data collected by the State of Alaska using OPM. It is the most conductive deposit combined with the appropriate phase angle in the district and in the top ten I have found in all of the surveyed districts in Alaska.
