Grandpa gave me his 1884 Morgan Dollar!

Thought I'd share this on here even though this wasn't my metal detecting find. I had my 30th birthday this week, and my grandpa gifted me this beautiful 1884 silver Morgan Dollar he found on his property back when he first built his house in the 1970s! He built on an area that was forested so when they cleared the trees, he said they graded the soil and this was lying on top! What an insane find I thought, considering there are no houses on old maps on his property. haha Super cool to me. Might go swing the detector over his yard soon. haha

Might? Get that coil dirty man! Wonderful gift and the coin does look like it had some dirt nap nights.
Get him to tell you what the area looked like before and take notes on where the good spots might be. Where there any trails or other human activity present? Areas where maybe people stopped to rest or set up camp for a night or two? Any trash pits? Water?
Good luck with it as it sounds like a fun time even if you don't succeed finding other old coins.
