Been looking forward to meeting new metal detecting friends at the detect America detect and pizza event in Ocean City Nj. With a light rain falling I stopped at an old tavern site on the way to the shore. It's a site I have never dug but got permission to hunt a year ago. Dug for a while and a few wheaties. Then I dug a nice 1786 NJ copper . WoW. I really wanted to get to Ocean city so I left . Met some great new freinds. lots of great information. Lots of beach hunting. Founds some modern clad but it was just a fun day. And the pizzas were giant.
On my way home stopped back at the old tavern site. Dug a few more wheaties and and a cool button. I'm tired. Thanks for looking

Nice going, the NJ is a Maris 14-J, common variety. I have found the same button many years ago, probably at a tavern site. :) Please message me what county found in for my survey, thanks
Don

Thanks Don..I sent you a message right after I posted. Thanks for checking it out

That piece of metal that says 58 on it, is for old license plates. Some states did not use stickers back then, and some states used a whole new embossed plate every year. I know Delaware used those old 58 type tags back then.

Nice find! Im in the "14-j" club!:laughing7:
