Great day in the field, NJ state copper (close ups added)

Hi All,

Today I went to another new spot and did really well. Found 2 large cents (1 looks to be early) a couple of King George types, a really nice NJ state copper, an Indian head and some buttons. The two large buttons are pretty unique looking and the small reads W H I F of 76 & 34. Can someone help with id'ing that large copper disk with a stud? Hope to have more days like this one!

Great coppers always love digging the large cents.

Would like pics of the NJ obverse to ID. Closeups of both sides would be nice. Hogge

Sure Hogge wiil do. I am at work now will post later this evening.

Nice NJ copper. What's the date of the Indian?

Congrats on a super hunt, of course I am always interested in any NJ copper find and as Hogge requested, I second that request for photos of both sides as close as you can to the coin for variety ID purposes. I would appreciate if you PM me the state and county found in for my NJ survey.
The button you found is a WHIGS campaign button, many varieties of them, so a closeup of that might help. I found one years ago with a nice Liberty Cap on the front and the writing on the backside.

That qualifies as an old coin spill Bud!!! WTG on some historic recoveries, Quindy.

Very nice hunt! The NJ copper is sweet as is the True Whigs campaign button :icon_thumleft:

The one disc with the tapered stud looks like a golf shoe cleat.

Great copper finds.:icon_thumleft:

When do I get to have a day like this ! Any ONE of those items would have made my day.

Awesome finds!! Niclove the jersey copper!!

Thanks for all the great responses. I have posted close ups of the N J copper as well as the WHIGS button. I don't know when I can get back to that spot, but, sure would like some old silver. Thanks again!

Don

The back of the button reads extra rich.
