Had to bring the truck in for maintenance today, so I headed into the nearby conservation area.
Wasn't sure if the ground would be thawed, great news ! everywhere I dug was easy (except for those roots )
Dug what I thought was a colonial Coin, first thing I could see was the chain type design, it is 40 MM and thick like a coin, found the monogram when I checked the hole.
Is this a Bridle Rosette ? the bent pins on the back hold the monogram.
also found the small buckle here.
Truck finished, so on to my first and favorite site, haven't been there in a while.
got a few buttons, a flat with sunburst backmark, 'Imperial Orange', that's a new one for me.
2 leads, one a really heavy floral, other a bordered flat.
and a tombac.
got another .61 ball, & a couple lead bottle seals, one Jas. Hennessy Cognac
Left the fields feeling good about these finds

I removed the cap from the Hennessy bottle, it has a glass plug and cork ring,

Hill Billy, not sure if you are referring to the last photo, that is the 'Jas Hennessey Cognac' seal.
the previous button appears to be a solid lead rose with nipple in center.
dark 'Button' at top in group photo with hole is a lead dispensing tube cover 'Colgate & Co new York', below that is the tombac, and to it's right is a lead flat button with raised border.
