Hello All,
Well, I said that if I found nothing else this year, I wanted to find more of the Spanish "Castle piece" I dug in this post: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/t...ish-colonial-cap-badge-henry-clay-button.html
I managed to find another piece today, and I am starting to think that we're dealing with a Shako.
When I recovered the first piece back in spring, a Spanish Colonial expert, collector, and curator told me "I quietly hope that this might be a fragment of a Spanish shako plate, but to make any judgment about it more will have to be recovered. There has never been, to my knowledge, a Spanish hat plate found in the U.S. If you have one, it would be a treasure indeed." I have now sent a new photo of both pieces to him, and am awaiting his reply.
This was my first time with a new camera, and doing a longer video. Got one title card in there wrong, but otherwise turned out well.
