They also both appear to be woodland triangles. You can google projectile point types for a lot of detailed info.

I do have the local typology book. Some points are so closely alike that I feel I need your guys' input to put the final stamp on it. Maybe the rhoylite one is snappit and the quartzite brewerton. Woodland age, got that.

Thanks again

I have a couple of Greenbrier Daltons that could be blood kin to the first one.

The first one is definitely a Late Archaic Brewerton Eared Notched. Photos too blurry for me to tell the lithic on the triangle. There are a couple of greenish quartzite lithics that are commonly seen in area collections, but I don’t believe the triangle is quartzite. It might type as a Snappit point, Middle-Late Archaic....

Here are some closeups requested. Best I could do. Thanks gentlemen!

I probably have a couple quartz triangles here - somewhere. It's really hard to tell point types by photos, at least for me.

The Snappit: check for ground edges on the Basal sides and base. It can be slight. But it’s the only indication that it’s not a Squibnocket Triangle. In either case, quartz would be the most common material.
Nice finds-both!

There is an overlap between Brewerton Eared Triangles and Vosburg points, and your first eared point illustrates that. It actually fits both types. I agree with Mucker regarding the triangle. Basal grinding points to Snappit. It looks like it might have been a bit erose in the blade, another Snappit trait.

Thanks Charl and MAMucker and others. I uploaded another couple triangles in another thread. One smaller quartzite with Basel thinning and another one a bit different. If you have time I could use some input on these as well.

I am on the hunt for one like the recent Mamucker find!

The darker one has a longer ear and was found near two transitional paleo points I found. These are from Se Ne
