Hello, my wife and I are new to the hobby and site. Just want to say hi and look forward to getting to know you guys.

Any tips on where to pan for gold near Texas, or what type of detector would be a good start for noobies?

Thanks in advance!:hello:

You might consider browsing Sub-Forums: Texas for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome from the Alamo City. Llano River produced a little gold and Sandy Creek(south of Llano, Texas) has some powder gold. Flakes and small nuggets in the Llano near Llano too. Just hit and miss...

Hello from wyoming!!!

Welcome from Spring, TX! As others have said, LLano is the main spot for small gold in Texas. The Garrett AT Gold is a great unit for detecting small / sub gram gold, just don't take it near saltwater.

Call me if I can help you in your detector decisions.
