Detector(s) used
Minelab Explorer XS-2, Garrett Ace 250
Found some sidewalk construction and pulled right in. Work day done and this one block stretch was all mine. Had the Explorer slowly covering the area and after 25 minutes had a new memorial cent. Sweat in my eyes still moving slowly picking up a trashed wheat and a couple pieces of junk for my effort. When I finally did get a sweet sound I basically kicked the dirt to show a silver roosie for my effort. About the time I finished I get another signal, sounding sweet and digging maybe three inches down pulled the Merc, and maybe a step further a small silver ring marked "sterling". Last swing before I turned off the detector had an iffy signal, checked, rechecked the sound and finally decided to dig. The 1928-S Standing Liberty was a good nine inches deep buried all thses year with a nail as a companion, which had me wondering for a minute or two. Something told me it was a coin and I was not let down. Its badly worn, but with a date. Looks ugly, but I'm taking it, first SLQ of the year!! I'd say 1 1/2 hours in the heat but definately worth it!! Silver Gods have not been nice to me so far this year!!

I ignore the mosquitoe readings on my detector, there are enough of them sucking me dry before dying and get buried in the dirt. GREAT FINDS!!!!
