A couple weeks ago a friend of mine (she is a realtor) called me and said I could hunt one of the properties she had just listed. I plugged the address into my gps and headed out the next day. As I approached the house the gps said arriving at destination, on right. I saw the for sale sign and pulled in. I found a silver merc and a Washington quarter.
Yesterday she called me and asked if I had gotten to that house yet and I said I had. She asked if I had found anything and I said I did. She said she thought I might find something on the little hill in the back yard thinking kids could roll down it. I said wait a minute, what small hill? The back yard was flat. A couple minutes later I had a suspicion I might have detected the wrong house.
I drove back there this afternoon and sure enough the house I hunted a couple weeks ago was 3 doors down from the one I was supposed to hit. I just basically drove into a driveway of a house for sale and hunted it....LOL Anyway, the house today had a really small front yard and the back was not much bigger. I found a merc and two Roosevelt dimes in the front yard and 2 mercs in the back yard. First 5 silver day for me.
Here is the strange thing though. I hunt with a Deus. Typically a silver dime will hit at 89 (sometimes) or 90 (usually), but today they were hitting 92-93 which is where a clad quarter or (sometimes) a silver quarter would hit. I can't explain it but the soil was very wet so perhaps that might have caused it. Haven't cleaned the dimes up yet but here are the photos I snapped with my camera when dug.
Happy hunting everyone!
