So my last penny hunt took me over 500,000 pennies searched. I've never hit a single large score, either MWR or CWR. Though I've done OK overall. Certainly did better when I lived in the SE, now that I'm in the midwest it's a bit slower. There are a couple of exceeding large volume penny hunters in my area now that drain the pool. Overall my penny stats are as follows.
Wheaties - 1,634. Oldest 1909. Rare dates - '13D, '16D, no real rarities. Found a blank planchet, an atheist cud, several other cuds and clips.
Proofs - 4, including a 1960 proof obverse ender.
Indian Head Pennies - 4. Oldest 1874.
Dimes - 156, including one solid roll of dimes (2 CWR, 1 was solid dimes, 1 had an IHP)
Foreign - 91, not counting Canadians
Other - 16, stamped masonic, kennedy or other oddities.
Overall slow but steady. These are finds from the wife and kids as well. The wife found a roll with 37 wheaties, one of the boys found one with 9. Other than than I've never found more than 5 in a single roll. Pretty amazing for 10,000 rolls searched. Thanks for looking.
