Hammer stones?

Found these in a creek they were all in the same little area. Hammerstones? 2 big ones are very smooth

I had the very same hypothetical question without a picture and the answer was ,"just a stone". Unless there is some visual sign that it was used as a hammer stone by N.A. then it is "just a stone." I have several stones just like yours and I'm using them right now , BUT they are still "just a stone"!

I believe they are just rocks. Hammer stones would have damaged areas/divots where they were used.

Sorry, not seeing any signs they are hammer stones. Smoothness would be from the running water, you say you found them in a creek.

Look like creek rocks to me also. Can you show the other side of the one on the lower left? It’s a good practice to show more than one view when posting such items.

They could be used as such but I don't think they ever were.

The one looks similar to what we call here a bell hammer stone. These are some rough hamerstones of the same material but they show use wear and were dug with other morters and pestles.
