Hard Times Token

One thing I love about this hobby is that you never can be sure what will turn up. I went to one of my favorite permission fields, hard hunted but old, hoping to find something I missed. As most of you know this can happen a lot! I was hoping the recent heavy rains had compacted the soil exposing some targets. This field gave me a half real and a capped bust half dime in the past so I was optimistic though I'd been over it time and time again. This is all I found. I thought it was an old large cent. I put it in a plastic flip with some dirt to keep it moist. Here's some pics lightly brushed with my favorite beard trimmer brush only. I'm not gonna try to clean it for now. Also a link describing it. Its a first for me and I'd never heard of them. Good Hunting.

Very cool find. I really like finds like this that are different and you don't see posted.

Very nice. I found a similar one a number of years back. The design & pictures are the same, but it has a different saying on it. It was from 1837.

Liking the hard luck token, not a lot of them ever posted up and yours looks like it's in great shape.

I like that, looks like it will clean up nice!

Nice digs. I like the tokens also, there's some thing about them that's special .
