Thought I'd post a couple of interesting points I had questions about. Here's the first one.

I've never seen a knapp this deep on a point. It really stands out on the black surface. What do you think caused it? Some inperfecting in the flint or was this guy simply a badass?

I’d guess it was very early on in the process, a strike on a core left a big hinge removal. Then the spall used to make the point was created. from there they made the point like normal. But they never could drive flakes across that spot to remove it.

That is a good comment and sounds very likely to be the case. The only thing that makes me wonder is that it sits right in the middle of the artifact. It seems it would be hard to do even by accident.

A weak vein in it would facilitate i suppose

OTB nailed it. Artifact was shaped around the divot.
