Detector(s) used
garrett gta 350
my question is: is the success rate greater with headphones than would be without them using a graphic target analyzer system rather than an imaging or metered metal detector.i have never used one but would like to try a set,and if there are some other post on here with the same question can someone direct me to them with a link or a page with some real in the field info,,, not an advertisement !! thanks-a-million !!

First of all did you ever dig and find some than other than what your detector said it was.... well that's because no detector is right... head phone let you hear those faint repeatable singnol that you would of miss because of all the out side noises... your coil is only over a target a short time.. a split second and your not all way's focused.... with head phone it's you and your threshold... any little break in it... an you'r on it... ready to ponce like a tiger.....

Head phones help more than you'll ever know if you don't use them. They not only draw less power from the batteries but they don't alert every dog in the area that you are there, kids too. You can hear the slightest sound with out to much outside noise bothering you. Get the best you can afford because if you can't hear it, you can't dig it. I use DetectorPro Black Widows but there are other top of the line ones like Grey Ghost, Killer Bees, Jolly Roger.

I agree with the last two post's. I have dug a few significant targets I would have completely missed if I were not using headphones. Here's the phones I use. The headphones come with extra cords, so if you get hung up in the sticks and the wire fatigues , you can replace the old cord at the truck immediately vs. having to take them to have them cut and soldered. DetectorPro Grey Ghost NDT's.

The owner Gary also has the absolute best customer service around.

good deal,i've been mdt'ing for 15 years and often wanted a pair and man it makes me sick to my guts to actually know that i have missed about 30-40 % of the targets i stepped over...... i'm sold on them now,i'm 43 and ears are'nt what they used to be,right now my problem is hearing those long(1.5 second maybe) mid tone moans(thats what i call em) i'm just flat out losing targets !!! :o

When you hear a faint signal with head phones, will it always register on the meter also?
