Could you please help me identify this recent find. Size is very similar to a modern penny, just very slighty smaller. Thank you, Glory-Days

How about this one it might be closer? 1864 Civil War Copper Patriotic Token. Indian head on one side, and rearing horse and rider on the other with the words "THE FEDERAL UNION IT MUST BE PRESERVED"

Thank you everyone. I believe that you have hit the mark on this one. It appears that it is a variation of the many Civil War Tokens. Never knew there were that many Civil War Tokens out there. Again thank you for your help. Glory-Days :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Horse isn't rearing in my view. I think BCH's is closer and possibly "exact match". JMO.

Hard to tell but it appears that the letters " UNI", as in "Union" appear between the horses and riders head, along the ridge of the coin. Thanks again everyone. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumleft:

If you tilt the original picture to the right, the horse will be rearing. ffuries got it.

I agree. I believe the token you have is listed in Fuld's Patriotic Civil War Tokens as 54/179a-
54 being the obverse Indian head die and 179 being the reverse die with the rearing horse and rider, the "a" means it's made of copper. Yours is a common token with an R2 rarity rating (2001-5000 known to exist). Nice find nonetheless.
