Definately a first for me. :icon_sunny:

Got out for a while today with nothing much to show but some lead and big iron. The IH and plate were some of the last items dug today. Sure made my day. :)

I found a small homesite within a quarter mile of my house a couple of weeks back. The farmer cut the hay last week and I took the mower and cut it a little lower. Lots of square nails to pick through but I should get a few more keepers there.

Good Luck
Randy

Old thread, but I haven't been out in a couple years. Finally got out today. Nice and warm. This was the highlight of my day!

Nice! What's that next to it? Toy gun part? (Looks like it says "Autry" on it?)

I also found a few of them - one is in like new condition.
I read they were called "Hearts in the Sand" heel plates.
The article also said they were commonly worn by prostitutes.

The area I hunt is old mill houses. I've found all sorts of crazy stuff! lol Yes I've read the same. Makes me wonder what went on there!

Did you read the members reply on the heel plates that was posted up a little while back?

Basically it stated that online reference was a pile of cow patties.
I tend to believe this also-as the one's that I recovered were from homestead-single homes that were recorded in the historical atlas as first settlers.
Now I'm not saying if these were in a western one street town, mining, or gold rush setting it would be tramped all over the above 1st paragraph.

Thanks for confirming it, nice link.
I see you have a clock frame also.
Yes, I think I found a few clock parts. There was a smaller gear but it's not in the picture. The last time I was there I had found a gold foil wrapped wedding ring up against a large tree. I've expanded the area I am hunting with hopes to find more good stuff!

When I first found the heal plate all I could think was it was a nice present to someone you love. They have your heart forever!

Then again it's on the heel, where it just keeps getting kicked around. :laughing7:
