One time me and some friends rented an old mansion with a tower. The door to the tower was locked but we looked through the keyhole and could see the inside of the little tower room. We searched all through the house for the key and eventually I found a rusty old skeleton key in a drawer in one of the bedrooms. I took the key and put it in the lock and turned. The lock clicked opened. It was so satisfying to feel that lock open and hear that click. I had never before used a skeleton key. The door then swung open and we entered the tower room. It was a tiny old dusty room with a small stained glass window and conical ceiling, round and almost closet like in size. Plaster was peeling from the walls and the ceiling clearly had been compromised by water intrusion at some point. Old papers and trunks piled high around the round walls, their contents a mystery. Locked the door and put the skeleton key back into its hiding place where I'm certain it still rests to this day.
