No, they were not faking their finds. No one in this forum has ever talked about getting consistently bad boxes in the Northeast. They probably read RichHartford's and Ugotit22's old posts and realized what they great opportunity they had being in the area that they're in. So they took it to monster search their area more than Rich or Ugotit ever did. No big deal, I would probably take advantage of it too if I lived there. There's nothing really special skill involved in this hobby other than being in a great area for this hobby. It's not for everyone. For anyone considering doing this hobby hardcore, do research on your area first, then decide whether it is worth it to go big like CNC and DB. If your area sucks for CRHing, don't get upset if someone in a better area is pulling keepers left and right. It all depends on the area in which you live. It's just where you live that is the main factor. I think people often forget this fact and get their emotions too envolved. I suppose I understand CNC & DB if they feel as though they don't want to let this news get out anymore than it has. I recall DB saying that some bank guy in his area ordering as much as he has when he figured out what DB was doing. Getting boxes like N.CA style boxes out in NY may be the first sign that they should be more protective of CRHing in their area. Perhaps that's when they get protective. I probably would too if I started getting skunked a few times in a great area for this hobby. No one wants their hobby that has been so profitable come to an end. Other than that, I do think that however differences in personalities do come out and facilitate the speed of their departure. I know that I personally cannot compete with their numbers because of the area I live in. Even if I did as many boxes as they did, in the end for me, it would be a waste of time and labor.I wouldn't worry too much about it. They're still going to be pulling their keepers being in the area that they're in. Best of luck to them.

What's funny to me is that the bickering over this is nothing. You guys should read all the fighting I did with others in the old politics section that was cancelled. I personally don't get why people get so fuming mad over politics like their life was in danger. Like anyone has the money to donate get these politicians to actually listen to them. LOL Arguing over it does not achieve anything. Some of those people that were on the old politics sections are just nuttier and extremist as hell. Good thing, they're not on this CRHing section or I'd ask to get them removed. I recall MTS even tried to have a logical debate with them, and they didn't care to listen. They start ranting and start calling names and insults. The only way is to fight back. Anyhow, I digress. I realize I wasted a lot of time there.

I will miss the posts by CardsNCoins and DB23. I have learned a bunch from their posts, and found both of them to be honest and forthright. CRHing is a bit funny because in a way we are all working against each other in some sense or other. I can understand their frustration with some new (and older) members, there are many different personalities here. Some personalities are not compatible... I hope that they are reading this and eventually come back in some capacity.

People come and go on web forums fellas, this is nothing new. A supervisor I once had always said, "No one is irreplaceable."

Lots of good people have left this forum. Lots of others (Myself included) post much less than we used to a few years ago. It's just a rough board lately. the language has gotten ruder, and some, not all, of the people have stated that the old timers should just go away and leave the board to the new people and the new attitude. That has HAPPENED a lot, and I think that is a negative thing. ALthough I think some old timers have been lurking still, like we hear CnC and DB are doing. And some new people are a GOOD influence here too. The pendulum will go back and forth, and so I don' tworryabout the board. It will survive. (I"d love to be an admin though! Yep, I'd clean out some of the posts that are disparaging, and taunts, doubts, or other insults would disappear. NOt aggresssively on my part, but I'd like the board to have some less fighting going on)

As for huge finds and whether they are real or not, the first person I saw when I joined the board to have finds BETTER than CnC and DB TOGETHER - was our queen and reigning diety from Louisiana. If you don't know who I am talking about, it goes back a lot further than the recent batch of posters. LJ was (And is) the queen. And you know what? People doubted her finds too. But she NEVER got upset if someone said they didn't believe her. It was just their choice, and she continued to post what she found. She left the forum a few years ago.

We've also had a few deaths in this family. Yes, Rich H died recently. But he was not the first core member to leave us that way. Who remembers silverfox before him? Is his brother still here on the forum? I don't think he has posted much lately either.

Guys, the forum has changed. Some posters we lost are gone forever, although not all of them by choice. The thing we need to keep alive is the decency of this board. Don't believe someone? Don't read their posts. Don't get into arguments. And don't have an attitude about it. Personally I don't like the clever ways of changing a letter to curse on the board and not get censored. Why be vulgar? But you don't see me attacking those people, because it would do no good, and also create more strife. I've had two blow ups with members over the years. remember our white hooded religious friend who was WEIRD (In my opinion) in his comments and kept taking anything that was said and taking it out of context? (YOu know who I am talking about if you've been here long enough) he was actually permanently banned from here, for attacking the admins and refusing to stop his harassment of others. And that was probably 18 months or 2 years ago. So it's not all "new" that this is going on. But in general people are ruder today than years ago. People are more antaginistic. People say ugly things on the internet It is the new way. Let's just try to keep it to a minimum on THIS board. Keep it wholesome and not so crazy.

the board WILL go on. Without Obi (Yep. that was him. And some people LIKED him. Many did not) and without Riley. Without CnC and without LJ. WIthout DB, and without "me" when I stop writing entirely or end up like Rich. (Hey, it happens to ALL of us) Yes, it will go on. Just focus on the hobby, don't get so uptight about posters, don't start a fight, and walk away if someone else tries to start one. Lets be nice to each other here while we ARE here though. If CnC comes back, I'm okay with that. If he doesn't ... I'm okay with that. the board will go on. Let's discuss finds, and coins, and silver, and indian heads, and commemoratives, and bad tellers, and things that are part of this hobby. Not each other.

Ones just trash talking...
And then the last one he said, some thing about smashing my F-ing face....
I laughed alot at him, and told him 44 was a little bit old to try to talk trash over the internet...and to go on about his day..
And that was the last I have heard from him.
P.S. My face, is still intact....ugly as ever, but still not smashed?

The mods can read your PMs. They usually won't because who cares or has the time UNLESS there is a problem. If he threatened you in any way I would def. report that. Keep in mind though that if you threatened him back that you may be subject to punishment(bannage) as well. There really is no point in anyone on this forum to talk like that to anyone else.

The Mods can NOT read pms... except for pms that are reported to mods... and yes some have been reported at this particular forum, and some of these reported posts which included threatening language have led to bans.
