Im looking into starting out I haven't purchased a dector yet , I live near Kentucky and just read about that state baning a lot of detecting . I want to get into detecting but don't want to invest if it is getting banned in places ? Any thoughts for a newbie ? Is there still places to go ?

Go to your state page. They will have some info for you. Sometimes you have to really dig to find it tho.
