Hello my name is Z. Haven't been in Michigan long Just got back from my 2nd tour in Afghanistan and metal detecting is something I always wanted to pursue as a hobby. I've been doing some research and trying to decide on a budget for a metal detector and a plan on where to start. If anyone has any advise please share.

Welcome from Birmingham Alabama. I believe that you can do pretty well with whatever fits your budget, if you get to know your(a) machine. So pick one and get to swinging! I wish you happy and safe hunting. We look forward to seeing your cool finds.
