help a newbie out

There are a lot factors to consider. Do you want a simple turn on and go detector or one that has more options that you can grow with? Will you hunt only on land or also in or near water? Do you want a high end used one or a new starter? And the biggest question of all. How much do you intend to invest in one?
For best results finding coins, relics and nuggets, You would need three detectors. You have to think about this, make some decisions and ask again including your answers. Frank

All of the above is good advice, not much more can be said.

If cash is limited, think of a second hand machine.
