Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

No, it’s not that early. Gorham used ‘Melrose’ as a pattern name on two occasions for two completely different designs. The first was in 1908 for a William C. Codman design, and the second was in 1948 for a J. Russell Price design. That one is the latter, from 1948.
