Help dating mallet / hammer for sale I am bidding on - Any help appreciated

I couldn't tell too much from the photo. I have quite a few old wood working tools -- wooden planes, Disston saws, Stanley planes and squares. I'd like to sell some or maybe trade. If your interested, let me know.

Wooden mallets were used in trades like barrel making or wheel smithing, they didn't last very long and are still in use today. No real way to date them. Because of the condition of the one on ebay, I would guess maybe 1930's/40's. Tony

The best mallets were made from the rare Lignumvitae tree that basically only grows now in the Florida Keys. Its the hardest wood. Others were Hickory.
