Looks like a used up harahey knife....sharpened on one side excessively. Could have broken during usage on one side and resharpened to keep using it......................jmo...................GTP

After looking at that Chong it does look like it is a Snake Head Harahey. I have never seen one before but that one example is a dead ringer for it. Not only that the strong beveling suggests it is Harahey. Your friends piece is a extremely fine example of the type too bad it was broke.......................GTP

thanks GTP, we were in the mountains and he sent from cam phone at first and we were like WTF, then next day one my friends suggested snake head, spot on

Now that's a nice blade. I agree it's be reshaped, t'was probably a lot longer.
I have a Jasper Dalton from Texas with the bevelling on the end, obviously reshaped.
Thanks for posting it Brandon, don't see blades like that very often.
Very neat.

Molly.

How awesome to find both pieces! And that material is beautiful.
Tell your friend "congrats" on finding such a neat artifact!
