Help id on this cuff link or button ?

Dug this today at new site 1901 Indian but the button/cuff link ? I have no idea it looks like sterling ,anyone ever seen this ?

Hello DG, Welcome to the forum. I don't think your cuff link is sterling because of the corrosion. Sterling generally comes out of the ground the way it goes in unless it has been in the ocean or elements of salt, and still after that, it can be professionally cleaned and buffed. Yours maybe plated. It reminds me of the faux monogrammed cufflinks that were popular in the late 1960s/early 1970s. People wore French cuffs during that time, and generally the sterling ones were monogrammed with the owner's initials, and the non-sterling ones were made to 'look' like they were monogrammed initials. I enjoy finding jewelry whether it is the real deal or not. Breezie
