help identify this rock/ gem

[stumpy long legs]

hi i got this as a gift a while back and i put it away. but i found it again and i wanted to know what it is but could not find any thing. can u help me identify it

Stumpy, to my untrained eyes it looks like green glass slag.

Could you take a picture with something beside it for size reference?

I agree with Dizzy, glass. It doesn't have the color of any gem or agate I'm familiar with.

I visited an old iron furnace in TN a while back. They took me to a hillside about a 1/4 mi. away where they dumped the slag. All of the slag glass was green. Lots of impurities in it and not good for much of anything. Gary
